These images were created in collaboration with the Undocumented Migration Project. The UMP is a long-term anthropological study of undocumented migration between Mexico and the United States that uses ethnography, archaeology, and forensic science to better understand this clandestine social process. I have been lead photographer on the project since its inception in 2009. The project is run by Professor Jason De León at UCLA. De León is a 2017 MacArthur fellow. Images can be seen in the book Land of Open Graves as well as in upcoming exhibitions at Colby College and Franklin and Marshall.
